Short-term project on regional development |

Ministry of international development of the UK approved off financing of a short-term program on regional development support in Ukraine. More generally this program is a reply to Ukraine attempting to increase the level of harmonization of state policy, particularly in regional development, with the practices and standards of the EU.
The main objective of the project is the preparation of:
• State strategy of regional development of Ukraine till 2015 which would reflect European approach and also recommendations on constitutional changes, necessary for the implementation of the strategy
• Methodology of researching the level of socio-economic development on regional, local and municipal levels, and also specification of such a term as “depressed territory”.
• Transparent financial instruments for the depressed regions support and stimulation of the further development in already developed regions.

Another important objective is the elaboration of the additional instruments aimed at widening the potential of the Ministry of Economy in such a sphere as elaboration and analysis of regional policy, and also partnership building between the main players of the process. |
