Realizing our potentials, RDA strategy for 2005-2006 |
|
|
Since the Regional Development Agency was launched in 2004, there have been significant changes - in both, political and economic climate in Ukraine and in the region itself. Clearly, RDA goals for the nearest future linked and bound with the strategic priorities of regional economic development in general, determined by the local government in recently updated “Regional Initiatives, 2002-2006” .
New government of Ukraine announced that country will take course towards euro-integration. It goes without doubt, that it will greatly affect all stratums of economy, politics and society. Since SME are driven force of European economy, it will become essential to boost its further rapid and sustainable development.
It is a real advantage for RDA to be engaged with this development, what - we cannot deny -are significant challenges. We all know we have a lot of work to do, but we know too that we have already achieved a great deal.
The Odessa RDA plans not to duplicate or to compete with activities currently executed by other governmental and non-governmental organizations, but rather initiate, facilitate and coordinate SMEs development, creating synergy to boost small and medium size entrepreneurial sector of the region, strengthening its international connections. One of the mid-term objectives of the RDA is to unite over 60 different business organizations in common efforts to. build a vibrant, self-reliant and outward looking region with the aspiration, ambition, and confidence to unlock the potential of all its people.
